What an amazing use of color, especially because of such a limited palette! While it looks like it slightly exceeds the 4 color space of the Game Boy, it still definitely gives off that retro feeling and does a great job at it. Not only that, the actual animation looks very fluid and dynamic, which is usually hard to pull off. I really hope your game goes far with this kind of hard work put in to it, keep it up :D

TankTheta responds:

Yeah, I think Golden Flame will shine like a real Indie Gem. I put my heart and soul into it. Even if it doesn't hit it big, I'd never regret my time with making what I've made for it.
Also fun fact, the palette does indeed exceed 4 colours, it's more of a modern take on the palette with about 8 colours. Makes more detail possible which helps. I try to keep to the Gameboy aesthetic as hard as I can because it's a tribute to Tower of Heaven in some regards visually.

Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed this.

Really dynamic and cool picture! I love how you drew the monster, very detailed and definitely keeps an uncanny/scary look to it. The scenery is also very good looking and definitely adds to the feeling with all the desaturated colors and overall cloudy atmosphere. Keep up the great work :)

Even though I do not know the character this art looks very great! I think the linework is amazing, especially on the body features like the collar bone, cheek bones and the hair. The details in the hair are really neat for the style as well, and I love how you drew the green smoke coming from behind. Awesome stuff, keep it up :P

I kid you not when I say your comment almost made me tear up!! This is the sweetest, most heartfelt piece of feedback I've ever received on any of my works. I worked very hard on this piece, so hearing this made me so happy! Thank you so so much for the kind words, I appreciate it so much!! :') <333

This looks very well done! I love your use of more desaturated colors, reminds me of old paintings from people like Van Gogh. The shape and depth look very well done, and one of my favorite small details is how the stem can be seen in the translucent bottle, with the light passing through just like it would in real life. Great work, keep it up!

VictoransXD responds:

Aww thank you so so much ^^ It means alot, i mixed many colors with blue undertones to desaturate them, personally think its one of my weaker works, but this actually makes me look differently and more positively at it now haha, thank you so much again for the sweet feedback :)

I love this sketchy style for Metal Sonic! The way you drew him really reminds me of how he appeared in the old Sonic OVA. He has a nice fierce looking gaze, and I especially love the trail coming from his eye. Keep up the great work :)

fl0pd00dle responds:

Thank you so much! I actually tried going off of both the OVA and Mania cartoons as reference!

Love this little waddle dee! The clothes and the hat look very cozy, and the different colors are nice and warm, kinda remind of me fall too :)

Keep up the awesome work!

I love this style, even though I can't put my finger on what it's supposed to be! It looks both clay like and also very retro video game-y, like Yoshi Story on the Nintendo 64. Both Mario and Mallow look very classic and true to their design in the original game, and so do a lot of the plants, trees, etc. but the combination of lighting and new background made this feel like something completely new. Love all of this, keep it going!

I love both these characters a bunch so it's very nice to see them drawn, especially in such a cool dynamic pose! I love the shading style for both Big and Froggy, and how you took advantage of perspective to make Froggy look like he's leaping out towards the camera. Big has a really surprised facial expression too which is really fitting. Great work, keep it up!

nuclear-smash responds:

Thank you very much!

Oooh these are great poses, I love how you also drew the muscles on the Saitama one. It looks very accurate yet stylistic at the same time, which is pretty nice :)

Great work on these, keep it up!

ArtTriad responds:

Thank you. Really appreciate your review and feedback

Ooh creepy little picture, but I like it! The lighting on this is probably my favorite thing because of how it turns into a different color (like on the hair where it turns from pink to yellow). The expression on the face is also very fitting to the creepy feeling, and so is the posing of the hands. Just great stuff overall, keep it up :)
