Lol you made me search up the character and this is a pretty interesting take on what an animated series could have looked like if the game/existence of the character was real. What I find impressive though is that you actually instantly gave him an outfit and personality, and even a weapon! It's pretty hard to personify a character with almost no information on him, so that's some pretty good work. Style wise though I think you nailed it with the whole old cartoon look, from the design to the way you did the line art and so on. Keep up the awesome work :)

I really wanted to challenge myself with this one. Thank you for your comment! I really do appreciate it! :D

I don't know much about the fantastic four lore, but this looks like a very interesting design! I like his sharp edges to give his body a less round look, and the symbol on his head is pretty cool. The way you shaded him also gives him this very cool chrome look, so I think you nailed that part. Great work, keep it up :D

Thanks for the feedback; really appreciate it.

Oooh is this water color? I really love how you drew this critter! The way you drew the spots and the tail stripes makes it look really realistic. The face is also amazing, looks like a real catlike animal. I love how you put a branch to also give it something to pose itself on. Great work, keep it up :D

Charlie57913 responds:

Thank you very much.
The drawing is made with watercolor pencils, the stains and stripes of the tail were made with a charcoal pencil.

This is gamerlike

Undeniable!

Very interesting rendition of such an ancient character. I love the palette you used here a lot as it brings out that vibrant feeling that some ancient drawings of deities had. The tiling and mosaic like patterns you drew also really emphasize that ancient feeling. It almost reminds me of a boss from a Nitrome game for some reason. But yeah, great work! Keep it up :)

LexRodent responds:

Glad you like it.
I picked the colors based on the Aztec Codices to give it the right feel.
The framing patterns are based on the pyramids fretworks.
Flattering comparison ; I wish my stuff was as stylish as Nitrome's artwork.

I really like the style of these! The outlines are nice and vary in stroke size, and are also tinted towards the overall hue of the image. I also like how you shaded, especially around the eyes. The hair shading is really cool too with the light blotches to kind of emphasize hair direction and shape. Great work, keep it up :D

Thank you so much!

This seems like a really interesting start! Can't wait to read more :D

I hope you are hungry for zany ghost adventures B^)

I haven't seen this character before but I love how you drew him! The proportions are very well made for a humanoid character, and the armor is also very cool and unique. The colors are really nice and remind me of power rangers or transformers for some reason lol. The way you drew the helmet is also very cool! Keep up the great work :)

PM042 responds:

funny how you mentioned power rangers because this comes from the long running tokusatsu series series Kamen Rider. This design is based on the first rider, nicked named Ichigo by the fans.

I'm sure the person you drew this picture for was very happy, because this looks really cool! I don't know what this style is called, but it reminds me a lot of flip note from the dsi. I find it the most interesting how you used blue to shade the red hair here, yet it still somehow works perfectly fine. It's so unusual but the fact you made it work is extremely impressive! Love it, keep up the awesome work :D

Oretal responds:

Thank you so much yo! This comment makes me feel very happy :)

The hair was probably the hardest thing for me to figure out so I’m happy you commented on it. Glad I could reach into the style of old hatena.

This is very impressive for a first try! I can definitely tell it's sonic there, and the colors you picked out were very nice. My only suggestion is to somehow find a better contrast between the subject (sonic in this case) and the background. If you look at the middle, the blues kind of blend between the water and sonics head. And also the background uses somewhat lighter colors, but towards the top you have these darker mountain colors that kind of clash and kind of separate from both the subject and background. But other than that, I think this is really good! Keep up the awesome work :)

Scripticks responds:

Thank you for the advice and the compliments! I’m not very good with backgrounds and everything but the main subject, and this was no exception, so lil’ explanations like yours really helps. I’ll be thinking on your neat suggestions.
